Region Weekend Academic Award
In April our Executive Board attended the Region Weekend Conference at Cal State Northridge. They all had a wonderful experience, meeting new sisters from other schools, picking up new tips and skills, and even walking away with quite a few awards! One of our most prized awards was the Academic Excellence - Campus Standing Award, which was given to us for being the Top Ranked Campus Sorority GPA. We had the highest women's GPA average at USF this past year, and we were the #1 Greek Organization. Keep up all the hard work ladies!
Andrea Marsala Scholarship
Every semester, our Chapter
awards a scholarship in honor of our current Recruitment Advisor, Andrea
Marsala. Andrea previously served as Xi Lambda’s CCD for twelve years. This
scholarship is open to any sister in good standing, and it covers one semester’s worth of dues to a deserving initiate.
Last semester, two lucky girls were chosen due to so
many people applying this semester and showing interest in the scholarship. The recipients of the award were Kelly Cook and Justine Oehler.
Kelly and Justine went
through recruitment together, and were both initiated in the class of Spring
2011. Both girls expressed the general financial struggles that most students
face when being a full-time student and having a job.
