Philanthropy and Service - A quick overview!

Turtle Tournament 2013
Our Turtle Tournament last fall featured a tug-of-war
tournament, pie-eating contest, a "Dunk a DZ" tank,
and more! We raised over $4,500 for The Painted Turtle Camp!
Delta Zetas are passionate about service!

Delta Zeta chapters across the country are all devoted to helping the speech and hearing impaired. Nationally, we provide aid to Gallaudet University, a University for the deaf and hard of hearing, and the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which donates hearing aids to people around the world. Locally, our chapter supports the Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California, which is located just a few blocks from our campus in San Francisco.

Delta Zeta Sorority also has a national partnership with The Painted Turtle, a camp that provides a safe and loving camp for sick and terminally ill children. Our chapter hosts an annual Turtle Tournament to fundraise for The Painted Turtle.

One organization that is especially meaningful to the Xi Lambda chapter is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Every year, we host a fundraiser in memory of a sister who passed away from leukemia while she was attending USF in 2006. Read more about Ali's Way here.

Ali's Way 2014
Last spring, we hosted a talent competition showcasing student
performers for our annual Ali's Way. Our event brought
in over $4,000 to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
But the service doesn't stop there. Individually, our sisters have been involved with an uncountable number of organizations that have helped change the lives of others locally, nationally, and even globally. We've even partnered with other organizations on campus to support causes like Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Relay For Life.

While we're proud that we can list our contributions, we more importantly find joy in helping others. By setting a minimum requirement of 12.5 hours of voluntary service each semester, we hope that our members make service a lifestyle. We encourage each other to fulfill our university's mission to Change the World From Here and our sorority's creed to give graciously of what is mine.
